Alex McLeod is the violist of the Ton Beau String Quartet and the Academic Manager and Parkdale Center Director for Sistema Toronto. As a member of the Ton Beau, Alex has performed at the University of Toronto, the University of Lethbridge, Wilfrid Laurier University, Toronto Summer Music in the Garden, the Luminato Festival, the University of Guelph, and Vanderbilt University. In his work with Sistema Toronto Alex develops curriculum resources and materials for a team of thirty strings, percussion, and choir teachers who deliver an intensive, free after-school music and social program to 300 students in high priority Toronto neighbourhoods. Alex is a devoted amateur bread baker, and his emotional state correlates embarrassingly closely with the state of his sourdough culture, “Elliott Starter”.
